SeaTac Officer Brian Belongia was doing his usual morning patrol routine when he saw a car parked in the the 18800 block of 32 Ave S that he did not recognize.  He ran the license plate, and discovered the plates were stolen.  When the two occupants saw the officer, they sped off in the vehicle.  Officer Belongia pursued the car and was able to stop it with the help of other officers in the area of S188 and Pacific Hwy.

A 25 year old woman and her 24 year old husband were taken out of the car and arrested.  Officers learned that the male had recently escaped from the San Bernardino County Jail with the aid of his wife.  A couple of days after the escape the male suspect got into shooting with a Los Angeles County Deputy.  The deputy was shot  with a shotgun but survived.

The suspects then drove to northern California and reportedly murdered a woman in her Hercules, California home.

This is an excellent example of an officer knowing his neighborhood and being proactive!
