A 33 year old Seattle man was arrested by a King County Sheriff’s deputy posing as a cab driver last Thursday morning, after the suspect called a cab in an effort to get away after running from police.

The incident started last Thursday morning just before 9am when a sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle for expired tabs in the area if SW 112th St and 16 Ave SW. The passenger ran on foot and hid in the area. Deputies learned the passenger, 33 year old Michael Kelley, had 7 outstanding warrants for his arrest. While deputies were searching for the suspect, a cab pulled up looking for “Michael.” With the consent of the cab driver, one deputy got into the drivers seat posing as the cab driver and another laid down in the backseat.

The deputy drove the cab around the area until Kelley jumped out from behind a shed closely followed by a K-9 team. Kelley was arrested as he tried to enter the taxi.
